The 66th Venice International Film Festival is organized by the Venice Biennale and will take place in the Lido Island from the 2nd of September until the 12th of September.
The Venice Film Festival wants to promote the knowledge and spreading of international filming in each of his form, entertainment fiming, industry filming, in a freedom and tollerance spirit. The Festival will include retrospectives and awards to filmography stars, as a contribution to a better knowledge of the film history.
Marco Müller is the director of this 66th edition and is responsible of the Film sector since 2004.
The calendar of the customer projections is extended over 11 days, from Wensday the 2nd until Saturday the 12th 2009.
Tuesday, August the 1st, the Venice Film Festival 2009 pre-opening will take place with the projection of “La Grande Guerra” by Mario Monicelli, at the open air movie theatre in San Polo (Arena of San Polo) at 9 PM; the director will be present at the event.
This year, 5 International Juries will assign the Official Awards (Venezia 66, Orizzonti, Controcampo Italiano, Corto Cortissimo, Opera Prima) for the 66th Venice Film Festival.
